Consulting & Assessments

Social Assessments & Parental Capacity Reports

Since 2005, I have consulted nationally for Child Safety, Legal Aid, Youth Justice and Family Law firms on child protection and family court matters; delivering recommendations that inform critical decision making.  I have extensive experience working with multi-systemic, highly complex client presentations. I espouse an integrative eco-systemic approach which is trauma informed, person-centred and grounded in neuroscience and attachment theory.  I deliver quality, culturally appropriate reports with case conceptualisations that recognise the contexts in which clients live, I am process oriented and work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including family, education, health, legal and community supports.

Treatment Progress Reports & Risk Assessments

Risk Assessment may be requested for child protection matters, forensic family assessments (including risk of harm and capacity to protect), matters where a young person has harmful sexual behaviours, school safety planning and development of risk management plans; and for family court matters.  A standard risk assessment involves a comprehensive interview and the use of objective measures that evaluate both protective and risk factors; and the various aspects of an individuals functioning (mental health, cognitive, level of risk of harmful behaviour) and key determinants. Assessment is used to formulate the presenting concerns, provide clarification and opine any potential for further harmful behaviour, providing key recommendations to mitigate risk factors and increase protective measures.
